Our Impact
"I didn’t really understand every concept in math class this week, but that’s ok Miss Kendal will help me in our session.” What a comfort to both our daughter and to us as parents. Now as she is ready to began her journey to college we are confident as a family that she will be able compete on the highest level at any school she chooses. Miss Kendal’s program has given her the skills to confidently master honors level math in high school and score a near perfect score on the math portion of the SAT, allowing her to submit a competitive application to more select colleges. What began as, “getting a little help”, for our daughter has evolved into a student who is a peer tutor herself. What more can a parent ask for? A happy and confident child who is blessed with the support of a teacher who nurtures her intellectual abilities and cares for her like one of her own children."

"Kendal is such an Awesome Leader. My daughter is 27 now and teaching her own 7th grade math class. I thank Kendal, when my daughter was in 4th or 5th grade Kendal was her math tutor. My daughter picked up the concept of Math from that point and has been running with it ever since then. Math has always been my daughter's favorite subject. Working with Kendal brought out the Best in my daughter and she continues to be that scholar and demonstrates it with her own students today. Today my daughter is that tutor to many students as they excel as well."

"Working with STEMulating Minds has been nothing less then amazing. When we started, my daughter went through other well know programs liked Kumon and many tutors. With very little improvement. When she started with STEMulating Minds, her improvements with homework and testing was noticeable not just be me, but her teachers and most of all my daughter as well. Now in college, she is still working with them. She just Aced her entry exam. Need I say more. Thank you"

"I am so very grateful to have had Kendal tutor my daughter and son in Math
throughout their entire high school years. Both of my children (one now a NYU college graduate and one a college junior) blossomed in all of their high school math classes which included AP math and college math. Kendal has a way with breaking down techniques and formulas that gave them the confidence they needed in class and on rigorous math exams. My son said to me on several occasions “I get it, wish my teacher could explain like that”. My children were tutored with Kendal both in person and in an online setting. They were extremely comfortable with her. I appreciated her flexibility with scheduling and most of all her follow up with them after exams was truly appreciated. She would call, text or email the day after to see how it went. Kendal kept both my husband and I in the loop with their progress and we learned a lot from her as parents when it came to “new way “ to solve various math problems. We are so very happy and grateful to have had such a math talent help our children academically succeed in math."-The Johnson Family, New York
"My daughter struggled in math. Thanks to Mrs. Askins, she is now academically excelling! Mrs. Askins teaches in a way students can understand. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with her tutoring."

"Mrs. Askins always met my children with enthusiasm and patience for the material she was teaching. She effectively organized the hour long sessions so that each child received the individual help needed. She also took the time to recognize what material could be applicable to the group, which avoided repetition and reduced wait time for assistance when needed."

"Mrs. Kendal Askins recently gave a remote seminar via Zoom to all of the members of the TIME 2000 Math Teaching Scholarship Program at Queens College of the City University of New York. The seminar was particularly relevant, as it was focused on have students get in touch with their personal "Why." More specifically, her goal was for students to think carefully about what their ultimate goals are that motivate them to do what they do. This seminar took place in April 2021 when students were feeling quite burnt out by the pandemic. From the moment the seminar started Mrs. Askins got the students involved by asking them to share their answers to very non-threatening questions such as "What is your favorite day of the week?" or "What are you most looking forward to?" Mrs. Askins' engaging and accepting mannerism immediately captured the students' attention and one by one they slowly turned their cameras on and contributed to the discussion. By the end of the session, all of the students were feeling reinvigorated and enthusiastic again about pursuing their careers as mathematics teachers. Some students felt it was like a therapy session. The professors in attendance felt that way too. Mrs. Askins' upbeat personality and the passion she has for whatever she does are beyond compare. Just to be in her presence is a gift you will treasure forever."
